Among other issues, the results of this analysis showed how, although for consumers the most valuable features of olive oil are its healthy properties (65% of respondents), they also attach considerable importance to the taste (17%).

Asked about the attributes of olive oil (fruity, muddy, spicy, sweet and sour) 49% of consumers described bitter as a negative attribute.

Report concluded that, although Spanish consumers have a high regard for olive oil, the vast majority doesn’t know its categories and its atributes and deficiencies in order to search for an olive juice of high quality when shopping.
