TAIPEI, Taiwan — Changhua Health Department Commissioner Yeh Yan-po said yesterday that there are in total 1.4 million bottles of recalled Tatung Changchi Foodstuff Factory Co. cooking oil, and the authorities will start working to destroy these products from today.

Yeh pointed out that olive and grapeseed oil made by Tatung was falsely labeled and contained an illegal additive known as copper chlorophyllin (銅葉綠素). The company took two months to recall all 172 affected product lines from markets and merchants, according to Yeh.
