The so-called “world champion” of Greek olive oil. Honoured with numerous distinctions and topped by its two golden Mario Solinas awards from the International Olive Oil Council. One of the first and most successful extra virgin olive oils, the Protected Designation of Origin of Sitia, Lasithi of Crete, are completed with production of organic products, while the integrated cultivation is also expanding during the recent years. In close cooperation with 27 cooperative olive oil mills, the oil is concentrated in the highly advanced standardized unit. It is rigidly inspected in accordance with the strictest of quality specifications. At the same time, taking full advantage of Reg. 2080/05, U.A.C of Sitia has installed and appropriate equipment in order to be able to trace back its olive oil of traceability. The result of this long-term progress is the continuous growth of the portion of sales of standardized products, including its exportations, placing UAC of Sitia as one of the largest exporters of Greek standardized olive oil.

I’m Anne LAURENT, I’m the chief executive officer of the Agricultural Cooperative of Nyons.
Few years ago (in 2000 or around), we’ve had an exchange with different people from Sitia who were working around the olive. From them, there were George and Maria who were working for the Union of agricultural cooperatives of Sitia.
We’re a french cooperative which products olive oil and black olives with PDO Nyons.
This campaign, we’ve a very small production and we’re looking for buying a foreign olive oil with PDO or high quality. It would be a great opportunity to work together.
