Having thousand years of antiquity both olive tre and its fruit, the olive is joined to the beginning of main mediterranean cultures. The different olive varieties cultivarted bring added value to Andalucía (Spain) oils , being Jaén county one of the most important worldwide zone in olive tree cultivation. Also Córdoba, Granada, Sevilla and Cazorla are zones known for il production, so make that Andalucía becomes the place where more olive oil are produced worldwide. There are several olive varieties but only someones are suitable for producing olive oils. Among these olive varieties the most important are Hojiblanca variety, picudo variety, arbequina variety, laudin de Granada variety, empeltre variety and picual variety.

The “Morrut” olive a low productivity variety “Morrut” olive tree of medium vitality with open shape and density in its thicket top. Long leaf in a lanced way and medium width. It is a variety of low productivity that needs rich and deep ground, beginning with a slow growing, high rooting, early blooming and a very late ripening. Easy adaptation to mechanization which meakes easier its harvesting.
Its fruit has oval shape,symmetrical, round base and wine-red ripening colour.

“Morrut” olive comes from Tarragona. Main cultivation are located in Tarragona and Castellón counties. There are only 26.000 ha. cultivade of “Morrut” olive.

Manzanilla Cacereña olive is a variety of high productivity
Manzanilla Cacereña tree is of middle vitality, open shape and tick top density. It has a high draught and high temperature tolerance. Medium size leaf, flat and eliptical lanced shape with dark-green back colour.
Manzanilla Cacereña is a variety of high productivity, high rooting and early blooming and ripening. Low loosenning resistance. Its fruits have oval/spherical shape, slightly asymmetrical with round base and black ripening colour.

Farga olive is a very high production variety

Lechín de Sevilla olive tree well adpted to hot in summer and sharp lowering temperatures in winter,draughts and limestone grounds.

Cornicabra olive is a high production variety.
Cornicabra olive tree is mid-high vigorous, open shape and middle top density, well adapted to poor and dry grounds. High tolerance to draughts and frostys. Picual olive tree is vigorous with open shape and density in its thicket top. Narrow, short and medium size leaf, green colour bunch and greyish-green back. It is a variety of high production. Olive of premature production, high rooting with a oily output, early blooming and medium ripening. Olive with low drought tolerance and well adapted to frozen.

Hojiblanca olive, a middle productivity variety
Hojiblanca olive tree is of high vitality, open shape and middle density in its top. Low draught and high temperature tolerances. Long size leafs, slightly width and corrugated, greyish-green colour with silver-plated back. Its name comes from this back because when sun shine the olive tree has a silvered metallic appearance.
The productivity is high thought when pressing olives for oil give shorter production. This variety has middle productivity, middle rooting, middle blooming and late ripening. High loosenning resistance. Its fruit have oval shape, slightly asymmetrical with round base and black ripening colour.
