Australian Cobram Estate has been awarded the title of world’s best olive oil for the third consecutive year at the New York International Olive Oil Competition.

In addition to Cobram, NSW’s Alto Olives also took out two Best in Class trophies, taking the Australian industry’s Best in Class trophy tally to four out of a possible 18.

Judging of the competition was undertaken by a panel of leading international experts who tasted over 630 extra virgin olive oils from around the world.

“We are thrilled and proud that we have achieved this ongoing success and recognition from such an esteemed international panel of experts,” said Cobram Estate’s CEO, Rob McGavin.

“…From tree to table, we have a relentless commitment to producing exceptional extra virgin olive oils, and ensuring they are available for Australian consumers to buy at their local supermarket.”

Following on from the 2013 and 2014 NYIOOC awards, Cobram Estate has once again been judged the most successful exhibitor at the competition, winning more awards than any other producer.

Cobram Estate recently entered the United States market, producing a number of smallbatch, single-varietal Extra Virgin olive oils in Yolo County, California, which will be marketed in the USA alongside the company’s Australian extra virgin olive oils.
