The New York International Olive Oil Competition
The New York International Olive Oil Competition is the definitive olive oil contest in the world. Here, the most distinguished panel of international olive oil judges ever assembled scrutinize entries from every region to find this year’s very best olive oils on Earth.
No other food is like olive oil. For thousands of years it has been exalted in religious rites and ceremonies, as a cosmetic and a remedy for a variety of ailments.
It is, of course, the cornerstone of the Mediterranean diet – considered among the healthiest in the world. Olive cultivation and oil milling is a way of life for entire populations and generations before them.
Olive oil is a culinary wonder. It can, like no other ingredient, draw and amplify flavors from foods. Extra virgin olive oils have complexity defined by countless factors including their cultivar, terroir and the the dedication of the producer.
A great olive oil will leave you speechless. It will elevate anything it is poured over to something unforgettable.
Producing excellent olive oil requires skill and hard work. Making the very best takes even more than that.
